When and why

Accounting is a statutory requirement, but its quality becomes visible at specific moments: when calculating tax, applying for a loan, during an audit, and during due diligence. Well-organised records shorten the process at these points; disorganised ones make it more costly.

Payroll is the area with the least tolerance for error, since it affects employees, contributions and tax filings. It is therefore run on clear deadlines and with data checked before calculation.

Taking over records from a previous accountant is a distinct task: open items, balances and consistency with filed tax returns are checked first, so that existing errors are not carried forward.

Scope of the service

  • Maintaining the general ledger and subledgers
  • VAT calculation and filing
  • Payroll, contributions and benefits calculation
  • Corporate income tax calculation and annual returns
  • Preparation of financial statements and statutory reporting
  • Reporting to the parent group (management reporting)
  • Fixed asset and inventory records
  • Preparation of documentation for audits and tax inspections

Zirex expertise

We keep accounting records within the same firm that carries out audits, so records are created from the outset in a form that can withstand independent review. For the same client, independence rules are observed, so the audit of financial statements is not carried out by the team that maintains its accounting.

Frequently asked questions

What do accounting services cover?

Maintaining the general ledger and subledgers, fixed asset and inventory records, VAT calculation and filing, payroll and contribution calculations, corporate income tax calculation, and preparation of financial statements. This also includes preparing data for management and the parent group, as well as documentation needed for audits and tax inspections.

How does payroll processing work?

Based on an agreed schedule, you provide data on working hours, absences and changes, after which gross and net wages, taxes and contributions are calculated, filings and payment orders are prepared, along with payslips for employees. Data is checked before calculation, since correcting it after filing is more complex than reviewing it beforehand.

Can you take over accounting from a previous accountant?

Yes. The handover begins with a review of existing balances, open items and consistency with filed tax returns and submitted statements. We document any inconsistencies found and propose how to correct them, so that errors from the prior period are not carried into new calculations.

How is accounting prepared for an audit?

Through ongoing reconciliation of subledgers with the general ledger, documentation of significant transactions and estimates, regular reconciliation with banks and business partners, and a well-organised physical inventory count. When this is handled throughout the year, the audit becomes a matter of verification rather than reconstructing documentation.

Do you also work with foreign-owned companies?

Yes. For such companies, in addition to statutory reporting, we also prepare reports according to the parent group's requirements, with communication in English and coordination with the group auditor when needed.
